North Star Film Alliance (NSFA) is a joint venture between Estonia, Latvia, and Finland that aims to develop and promote itself as a unified filmmaking region, servicing global film and TV productions.

To succeed in a competitive marketplace, this unique setup required not only an identity that stands out right from its launch but also a thorough and inspiring brand guideline document to consistently applying the identity. This was essential to ensure that all seven project partners’ activities and materials will appear mutually supportive and form one coherent entity.

Just like Brad Pitt.
Regardless of the nature of the production, North Star Film Alliance always plays a supporting role, creating the backdrop for the primary action. We scripted the simplest possible visual format in order to convey this, capturing NSFA’s purpose as directly as possible.

Clever talk to strangers.
Also starring: film-related typography and clever messaging that speaks to industry insiders. This approach engages with people on a personal level, functioning as a conversation starter in an industry in which personal connections are paramount.

Green (brand)book.
The green screen, familiar to everyone within the industry and beyond, and its neon green, became the plot twist that is surprising, yet understandable. Something, that doesn’t require Hercule Poirot to explain our thinking: North Star Film Alliance is the backdrop, the enabler, set for whatever vision.
